Priest / Rogue vs. Druid / Warrior 2v2 Arena Strategy
June 19, 2008 by Zuggy
The druid / warrior combo is the first major road block for the rogue / priest combo. It’s just a fundamentally strong class combination. Basically, this combo is the reason combat maces is the ideal spec. Combat maces really allows you to punish the warrior, other specs just can’t compare.
So what’s the basic strategy? Well, the rogue will be on the warrior and the priest should be trying to fear / mana burn on the druid. It’s going to be a long fight and it’s going to be frustrating at times.
The basic goal of this team is keeping constant pressure / lock down on the warrior all the while looking for the blind / vanish / sap combo on the druid. With good fear / mana burn pressure on the druid will limit his ability to just spam cyclone and drink.
If you can pull off the blind / sap combo your priest need to be ready to turn around and start dropping some DPS bombs. Smite, DoTs, everything he’s got. In addition, he should be looking to extend the the blind / sap combo with a fear.

Ok, so I need to be on the warrior, but how do you do that when you’ve got a druid that’s nailing you back to back to back with every CC he has?
Well, there’s only so much you can do. What I try to do is use some of my cooldowns early to prevent the initial cyclone rotation from going off. This will allow you to put the druid and warrior on the defensive, forcing them to heal / kite, and allowing you more time to simply deal damage.
We are losing almost every game due to kidneyshots resists.
What I have found about facing druid warrior teams is if u are getting cycloned too much, u aren’t getting enough drive by kick/gouge/fear in on him. Honestly, if u can’t do it, dont waste time trying to mana burn a druid who is can easily los u (but if he’s stupid, do it), ur priest should alternate between fear and pissing them off by MC when he pops in heal form.if ur stuns are resisted, priest needs to max his CC for you. U can bring druid to u for a fear or put him out of los of his warrior and this will force the druid to trinket from either fear or mc. Even if its only for a few seconds that u land a MC, it bides cooldown time and gives ur rogue time to kick the warriors ass. This can really save u if u miss a blind sap and keep getting cycloned, or even set u up for it the blind sap. Usually the warrior will come save his druid and open his back up. Then rogue priest both go offensive and its done. Really just utilize all cc u can to prevent theirs bc cyclone is bullshit-ur priest will run out of mana way before the druid and landing more then a few drains is tough with druids.
Well to answer Sabel’s question I would say pick up a bar add-on like Quartz and just set the druid as a focus target. Use Cloak on cyclone strictly and Imp sprint or call for a dispel on roots. Druid/Warrior is just going to be a rough combo even if you’re on your A-Game. Now as for Yuhu I take it most of these stuns came from orc warriors? Stuns resists do really suck you just have to hope it doesn’t get the point where a kidney shot is the only thing that will save your priest. Vile poisons helps alot for this team or any team with a druid at that.
Priest/rogue will not beat a good warrior druid period. i play a priest and it is just impossible to keep the warrior off of me and the druid runs around and does what he wants. that combo takes no skill to play gg
While I do agree with you ihurt i really don’t think that type of definitive rock, paper, scissors mechanic applies to any team’s under the 2300 bracket. Certainly any smart war / druid will have the advantage, and best should never lose.
But most priest / rogue teams should be able to overcome at a seemingly good percentage.
We made it :
The rogue attacking the druid, and I (priest) was pulling the warrior the other side of the arena.
A disc. priest can kill one warrior. The rogue stunning the druid, and i killed the warrior.
After that very easy..
